    I honestly don’t get the “gotta clean up the code first” stance. Like sure, you don’t want to publish complete spaghetti code without comments. But like, it can’t be that bad right?
    Besides, the point of open source is collaboration and so he doesn’t have to do all the “clean up” by himself.

      Yeah, I totally agree. I suspect that some people use it as an excuse because they don’t actually want to publish the code.

        I feel it’s used as a minipulation tactic.

        1. FOSS people don’t want to use closed source software.
        2. Lie and say you’ll “consider” open source-ing later even though you have no intention of ever doing so.
        3. Profit.
