Lithuania’s government on Wednesday approved a draft legislation banning Russian and Belarusian nationals from purchasing property in areas located near strategic sites, even if they hold residence permits.
Belarusian nationals without residence permits would also be barred from buying property, while Russians were banned from doing so in a previous bill.
The restrictions would not apply where ownership is acquired through inheritance. If approved by the Seimas, the amendments would come into force on January 1 next year.
Latvia and Finland previosuly banned Belarusian and Russian nationals from purchasing property, with exceptions for those who hold residence permits in the respective countries. Estonia is now planning to introduce a similar ban.

Will that really help? The russians can still buy that by using some shell companies or local straw men?
Close down the options one by one.
This makes it harder, getting a local patsy to front it is possible but harder than just turning up with a fistful of cash and buying whatever they want.
Corporate regulation will probably have to follow if thiss passes.
Just because something doesn’t stop/fix everything doesn’t mean its not worthwhile. Incremental improvements are more do-able than coming up with a “magic hammer” that miraculously fixes everything.
Perfect is the enemy of progress
Yeah, I’m not sure what is the point. Just gives small man more propaganda material
