When you saw some signature of their “support” (GNU stickers, the installation of a GNU/Linux OS, etc) they used to tell you a story of their old times in which they were “like you”, a FLOSS lover, and how they had to change “for the good” in order to maintain contact with society, to work, or similar…
They told you their decadence as people.
