Google is releasing Fuchsia OS, starting w/ 1st-gen Nest Hub - 9to5Google

Google's long-in-development, from-scratch operating system, Fuchsia, is now running on real Made by Google devices, namely, the Nest Hub.

And since Fuchsia is a microkernel they only have to keep the very small core open source and keep everything on top proprietary.
