How is the story basically the same from the first movie? Imo it’s a decently natural progression of things to happen. Jake falls in love with Neytiri and they start a family, and in the years following The Company comes back to fuck up more of the planet, I assume because it’s the closest one with such rich natural resources. Didn’t they say at the end of the first one that they’d stay and fight whoever came looking for them or something? I was never under the impression the sequels would be anything more than that.

Visually, yeah, I get that. It was goddamn gorgeous. Watching most of the audience flinch repeatedly when we got “splashed” with water was impressive.

Plot, dialog and basically anything not strictly about the visuals though, well the less said about any of that the better.

I’ll be honest with you guys… I enjoyed this movie for the experience. The sheer joy of the visuals being so goddamn beautiful that I didn’t even need to worry about it. The music helps a lot as well.

Sure, the story wasn’t a masterpiece, but that, to me, took a backseat.

The water effects were stunning, but I was a little disappointed that the plot didn’t really advance from the first one.

Clearly spending all their time on the tech and not the story. :(

Great visual effects, but the story is probably teenage level as usual (havent seen it). But it’s great for parents to go and watch it with their kids.
