I was hoping the Steam Deck would make a bigger impact already, but I guess Steam is just too big and production is still ramping up.
Steam usebase is huge, around 20-30 million active users at any given time (probably much more in total). They need to ship a lot more Decks to have an impact on the statistics.
But on the good side, there is this: https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2022/06/valve-to-ship-more-than-double-the-number-of-steam-decks-each-week/
<0.3 percentage points looks like fluctuations to me. We had that a few times already. Wake me up when it’s a statistically significant change of about 1 percentage point or so.
I mean, it’s a 30% increase… (:
Okay, I meant percentage points 😃
I didn’t got a survey since 3 months. -.-
Question:
I just installed Fedora 38 on an old but capable computer for my son. I installed Steam and it seems most of his games aren’t supported as is. I had the impression that Steam had been pushing WINE so hard that it would be nearly drop in replacing Windows. Do I need to do anything here that I’ve missed?
Not married to Fedora btw. It’s just because I work with Red Hat anyway so I’m used to that ecosystem.
@bubberstarteletscam @incici Maybe you have solved it already but you need to enable proton for all titles in the steam settings. This will make (nearly) every title playable :)
Ohhh that’s not default? I’ll text him forthwith :-)
