So i was checking my storage usage and i realized that f-droid was using 5 GB, i uninstalled it and reinstalled it and now it has a normal size, but why does this happen?

Not sure about you, but Fdroid defaulted to clearing the cache daily when I installed. It’s at the bottom of the settings page. Mine is using about 231MB currently.
I think internally downloaded updates are not deleted

Blame cache. I swear SD Maid Pro was such a clutch purchase from my Google Play Store account days, it just keeps on paying off for a 33 cent app lifetime license.
I use Titanium Backup and created a daily task to clear cache from all my apps.
