Well today is the big day. Valve has now formally revealed the Steam Deck, a portable handheld gaming console powered by a new version of their Linux-based SteamOS operating system.
Pretty much exactly what I expected and hoped for. Really nice :)
They answered the first in an FAQ… depending on what you play 2-6 hours. They mentioned that at least in Portal2 you can limit the frame-rate to 30 fps to increase battery-life.
As for the second part, well lets see. Valve seems confident to at least get some of them working. I think the worst offenders of such malware are anyways not on the Steam store.
I am wondering how long the battery life would be on it and how it would handle kernel level anticheat software.
