Ubuntu Touch has a similar easy installer that can in theory also install Android ROMs.
I actually used the Ubuntu touch installer to get LineageOS on my phone.
Honestly though, I’ve never felt like I needed an easy installer. There are only a few Fastboot commands you need to know, and they’re given to you in every major ROM’s documentation. Using Fastboot is more reliable too in my experience.
I agree the installs are at maximum easy. The only advantage I see is making steps away from any command line which scares people even if you’re only typing literally ten words.
Hey, if this means non-techy people have better access to FLOSS, I’m all for it. I’m just saying that I personally don’t need it.
But normies need. I need them.
Who says that Lineage will do the same?
Is this a request rather than news?
