The cable only charges the phone when it’s at specific angles.

    Try cleaning the port. A lot of time dust collects in a phone’s charging port which makes the connector not connect anymore.

    Apart from that, you should probably mention which model of phone you have. Many have guides on ifixit on how to repair them.

    If the pins are not damaged then you are good, try to open the carcass of the phone and gently press the exterior part of the microUSB port so that when you connect the cable it can “grab” it better. Be super gently, because if it gets broken you will need to do some micro soldering to change the port and you need a soldering station and/or some other expensive tools to change it.

        Well, I would charge like 10 or 15 USD so I think it’s a bit expensive but honestly you need to invest a lot of money to buy the tools and it’s a hard job even if it can be done in less than an hour considering how precise you need to be.

            I don’t live in the US (so 10USD is a lot more than for you, maybe) and I don’t even do this kind of stuff, so that’s just what I would charge, but maybe there’s someone available.
