I dispute that. Way too clickbaity, but that’s just the way of headlines these days.
The interview this is based on uses the word “exasperated” which I find much more fitting.

Foreign Policy geniuses
In the USA? Who’s that?

Drop in the ocean.
Damn that sounds cynical wrt USA’s fossil fuel usage.

Oh and let’s please appreciate that this isn’t his first “highly succesful call with Vladimir Putin” (sheesh, he even added the first name in full. Truly a fan) by a long shot.

The AI stuff has no philosophical sense behind it; it’s just vibes.

Your list combined with OP’s grievances is still non-exhaustive. Add environmental and societal impact. Nature and people suffer physically from it. People can’t get jobs. People who have created IP get pushed out by government-supported IP theft.
I’m not willing to entertain this at all. It’s not a psy-op for me, just a gigantic grift & hype of mostly one nation and its corpos.
Sure, the likes of Thiel and Altman would like you to think it’s a more complex thing, even to the point of admitting that it’s controversial. But it’s still just a grift, hype and bubble.

I feel like a child that fell asleep on an airplane and is surprised that the world around them has changed.
I did hear about RISC-V making it onto hardware but what about kernel development?

There’s nothing wrong with wanting to build something to be proud of, most of us have that to some extent.
No disagreement there. The issue is what you think you can be proud of, and how you go about achieving it.
Or, in other words, why wouldn’t they be more proud of building something that makes a lasting impact on society, instead of a big but fleeting impact on some people they want to impress?
That’s an asshole trait, but not a general human trait.

What adult is going to respond that way to a kid?
Not me, but I’m seeing it almost daily. Anything they think even has a whiff of imposing their will on their child they skirt.

normal human trait
Not sure I agree there. It’s a normal asshole trait that isn’t limited to politics. But maybe that’s what you meant.
the networks themselves
What do you mean exactly? The Internet (governed mostly by US “non-profits” that are happy to eat MAGA balls)? Its physical infrastructure?

Ah, I get it now. I was thinking too hard which Russian politician is called Krasnov…
The question isn’t whether it’s true. There’s objectively something to it, there’s evidence. The Q is to what extent it is true - but hey, we also deserve our daily bake.

The solution to the problem has been straightforward since 2022.
To some extent EU’s and NATO’s hesitation to commit themselves fully, unambiguously, was understandable. But that extent has long since ended.
Almost, destroying Russia seems a more likely outcome than just helping Ukraine get its independence & security. How did we get here? Oh yeah: hesitation. And the wrong person in power of “oUr gReAtEsT aLlY”.

Krasnov’s party
What’s that?

An elderly Wales and Borders DMU. Yeah this is the same type of train I took as a teenager, and now I am in my forties.
In my mind it’s a Good Thing that a train can last 30 years.
I have no idea yet what the article is about, but this triggered me straight away. 30 equals elderly?
It seems to address a phenomenon I have noticed myself: big spending on prestiguous public infrastructure projects, but no constant support for public transport.

That so reflects the minds of kids.
Normal adult (not Death): “Yo kid. Better tie your shoelaces” - Kid: “Do I have to?” - Adult: “Well no, but…” - Kid: (already gone)

My comment could’ve been misinterpreted that way. I’ve edited it now.
Yeah this.
Also there’s better ways of describing a strange taste. I once saw a whole sketch describing the smell of teatree oil without resorting to human excretion humor.
