Top drawer ! I think you it’s still more secure than most of my colleagues. It’s usually a post it on the monitor.

If we play “I would rather”, I would rather have a nuclear waste facility than a copper, lithium or cobalt mine in my garden.
The transition to renewables energy will requires A LOT of mining and mines are awful for the environment.
At least with nuclear waste we can try to contain it, mining waste is just left in the open and pollute the land and water with heavy metals.
We don’t talk much about the environmental impact of mining because it mostly impact low income country and there is no clean mining, so the only way to reduce the impact of mining is to reduce our consumption, but no one wants to hear about that. Globally we prefer pretending that we can transform our consumption to be sustainable
The only clean energy is the one that we don’t use, after that there is just a list of less worse alternatives, nuclear, solar and wind are on the “less worse” category but they still have a terrible impact on the environment.
No trust in servers Persistent security even in case of a compromised server
From Olvid website
They are advertising the fact that the security does not depend on the server.
I don’t know what is worth.
Also it’s developed by a French company, I think this is the main argument for the French government, they want to have options that does not rely on US companies.
Yes, this particular ratio allows the fact that you can fold a A3 paper in two and get two A4 sheet
NixOS too. I really like having a “fresh” install every time I restart.
A friend in high school gave me an Ubuntu live CD and told me I should try it.
I will try it.
It’s more expensive than Fusion360 but if its working well I might be interested.
I really want FreeCAD to work so I can get away from paying Autodesk for Fusion360.
My impression on FreeCAD is that I could probably get the result I want but I would spend most of my time fighting the software. I can’t justify to spend 3 time longer on FreeCAD than Fusion360
Yeah this was my issue too.
This is what I did, I prepared a partition for windows on the second ssd and it went OK.
The only issue was that I needed to manually add drivers on the windows usb for it to be able to recognized my ssd. It was a bit of a pain to find this information online
Just like wigs or esthetic surgery. We generally have the impression that wigs looks terrible, just because we only notice the bad one. The good one goes unnoticed.
The price of electricity produced is an interesting metric to look at but can be very misguiding alone without more data around it.
It like comparing the price of rain water compared to well water.
The same way that solar is cheaper than nuclear, rain water is much cheaper than well water, you just need a roof with a gutter to get rain water.
Does it means that we should stop using wells and rely only on rain water and use water only when it rains ? Or do we also want to have tanks, do we need a backup for when the tanks are empty ? …
They should built a giant ice wall to protect the power plant and the rest of the island from lava.
They probably need a group people to watch if they lava is coming though, since the night can last a very long time they can call this group something like the Night’s Watch.
I’m just sending random ideas.
A lot of french cities are limited to 30km/h. It reduces the number of fatal accident, promote alternative mobilities and some studies showed that it actually increase the average car speed.
Lowering the maximum speed reduces the amount of traffic so in fine even if the maximum speed is reduced the travel time by car is reduced too.
