If the author likes to walk around in his/her house with shoes on I don’t give a shit, but if you are entering someone else’s home, you god damn respect their home rules, its called being a decent human being for God sake.

We do be living in a society
It’s a disgusting mindset but it’s not entirely their fault considering their educational system.
Yeah I agree, almost everybody knows that big tech companies are selling and using their data to make profits, but the majority of this people don’t care enough about it, just like smoking, they know smoking is bad they just don’t have the knowledge/courage/will or whatever to change their habits.
It does sounds nice at first glance but think about it, do you really want to live in a “Player One” movie, let alone allow huge companies to know everything about you, and I mean everything, I’m talking neurological information. We know very little of our physical world and we already want to scape to a virtual one because reality sucks?, I’m not buying it.
On a side note, I have a cousin who is really into VR, I can tell you, it’s not the cousin I knew, he changed and it’s depressing, he doesn’t want to interact with reality anymore, it’s crazy.
I say why bother?, I mean sure, it does sound fun, when playing for an hour or 2 but think of the social consequences in the long run, imagine people spending 8hrs a day in VR for a long period of time won’t being able to distinguish between reality and virtual reality.
I think that this whole metaverse idea in itself will do more harm than good, either owned by a billionaire or the open-source community, this kind of technology development is not worth it. Furthermore, I would rather spend those resources elsewhere.
Indeed my friend, a revolution is urgently needed.
