I don’t. Every change in FAA safety regulations since then has been paid for in blood. The fatality rate per 100,000 flight hours was about 5x higher in 1970.

Obviously that’s a much bigger problem and I don’t doubt it happened a ton. From the user standpoint of someone trying to just use the community, it’s incredibly disheartening (especially if you have no IRL community to reach out to) to post, have a post go to 0 or negatives within minutes, and then ignored. When I still used reddit I would frequently see posts from people asking why everything was downvoted so quickly, which probably just encouraged the people who were doing it.
It’s because bigots will blanket down vote any and everything in queer instances.
Try holding a conversation when posts are all sitting in the negatives and nobody sees them unless they go directly to the community and sort by new.
Like me, you may have developed a pavlovian response to that sound because it meant the modem probably wasn’t going to throw an error and disconnect.
Absolutely wild that 1 publisher was responsible for around 80% of the retractions.
They still haven’t found the guy that was leaving pipe bombs around on 1/6 have they? I hear what you’re saying, but most capitol rioters got caught because they were fucking idiots.
How to wipe her ass on toilet paper when poop gets stuck to it instead of the goddamn carpet!
Seems like the man himself disagrees with you, since he saw it as a big enough problem to get professional help and make long lasting changes. 🤷♂️
If your food is unevenly heated it’s probably because you need to adjust the cook time and power settings. Heating it longer at a lower power setting will let the heat spread more evenly.
Alternatively, check your microwave’s wattage. I always have to adjust microwave instructions to be about 10% longer because my apartment’s microwave is weaker than companies assume the standard microwave is.
✨ May better heated microwave food await you ✨
… you gotta defund my friends?
“Just ban everyone from places with legal protections” is a hilarious solution to a PII-spitting machine, thanks for the laugh.
If you’re not already doing it, you can make it a lot easier to get excess moisture out of the filling by salting the cabbage and squeezing it. I follow the method explained here and it works well.
Neat, a potential FCC violation. I don’t know if this violates the advertisement disclosure requirement for political ads, but I bet someone at the FCC does.
The only thing your child needs if they have gender dysphoria is love and support. Period. If they are asking for a name change or pronoun change, listen to them. If they are asking for hormone blockers or hormones and that scares you, get therapy. Actually get therapy with a therapist knowledgeable about trans issues anyway, because you need someone to keep you from inadvertently traumatizing your child.
This isn’t a dig at you, this is true of any parent of a trans kid. I am that kid ~25 years down the road and I am legitimately lucky to be alive after dealing with gender dysphoria by myself and surviving a suicide attempt as a teen.
I encourage you to read this Scientific American article that goes into detail on all the evidence about what support (or lack of it) does for trans youth.
Craft stuff does legitimately go on sale. Fabric always gets deep discounts, and sewing/craft machines and tools also get a decent discount. It’s a great time to pick up stuff for a hobby you’ve kind of been interested in but weren’t sure you wanted to drop the money on it.
Maybe that perspective is unnecessary, unempathetic, and unrealistic. 🤷♂️
I would want to shit down the throat of anyone who said that to me immediately after I shared an upsetting memory that had bothered me for years.
I was taught to use milk rather than water, but that’s basically right. Butter doesn’t hurt either if you’re making it without cooking sausage first, but the sausage might have enough fat on its own.
I think I actually understated how much more dangerous it was then because the chart I was looking at stopped a couple of decades ago. I found a more recent study and it’s more like 1 death per 7.9 million boardings currently, versus 1 death per 350,000 boardings (!) from 1968-1977.
