They did, and we were a puppet state from then on, Warsaw Patch, but not USSR.
In general I agree, Imre Nagy’s leadership would have been much better than Mátyás Rákosi or János Kádár.

Hungary was never part of the USSR, not even in name, just occupied by it.
So some context. In communist era Hungary, a lot of the population lived - and still lives - in big prefab apartment buildings that run off central heating.
In the winter as it was getting colder, the heating would get turned on at the same time for the whole district if not the city.
The “they” in “they are finally heating at Jucika” is the government. It’s a hot topic every year when it gets turned on, as the people pay a flat rate for warmth.
With us, it can be an arrow right, an arrow forward, a light saying bus, a bunch of things
Depends on the country. I’ve only seen these.
It’s informative in that you can guess what the extra light is even when off.

They will not let businesses invoice large cash amounts.
Are not all ORMs like that? I only used ActiveRecord before fucking off from backend 10 years ago

Not surprising, considering the US is not able to deliver, even when it’s willing
We already are compelled to defend each other by the EU articles.

Great read, I rarely find an opinion article that has substance and is not just random drivel and ragebait.
Thanks for sharing
Liberals pushing austerity is what gets the fascist ball rolling every time.

That’s nice if I understand this correctly, which I probably don’t

At least that only hurts its users. IDC about people doing shit to their own bodies

This is unrelated to Hormuz

Did they ban nicotine or smoking? Won’t nicotine in other forms that are legal outcompete illegal cigarettes?
I also think it’s overblown though, bans in public spaces should be enough.

Dude’s not perfect, and I won’t vote for him next election most likely even if he is, even if I think he’s perfect as well. One party having 70% of seats is not natural.
But just let me be happy that some dude ran on “let’s jail the 3000 most wealthy thieves in the country”, won overwhelmingly and didn’t yet roll back on it, in fact he doubled down.

So in the meantime he clarified that while he invited everyone and their cats to the anniversary of the revolution against the Soviets, he kinda made a mistake, and he won’t block sanctions against Israel and will rejoin the ICC and prosecute Netanyahu.
It was more of a gaffe than an actual policy position.

Iran let a lot of non-US ships, like ships from China or Spain through as long as they paid with RMB or EUR instead of USD.
The US wanted to stop that because it could collapse the petrodollar and they’d have to start paying for their own debt spending. So basically the US lets shipping through that supports the petrodollar, Iran lets shipping through that undermines it.
It’s my take on it though, everything is likely much more fuzzy.

Yeah, that’s a major WTF, especially since he wants to rejoin the ICC (or rather cancel the process of leaving).
My guess would be that he is doing all the shit he thinks is the default.
Good question how that turns out. Especially with the current state of international relations.
Happy to have helped.
Means a lot to have one’s culture appreciated.
