I can see that threads.net may harm the Fediverse. But, there might be some people that don’t like the threads client and want to use the fediverse to interact with them. This will divide us. Also, trying to have a standard were threads.net is blocked is very hard to spread. Maybe has to be default on the server side, or even better, a subscription.

It might also be harder to recover picies if the hard drive fail partially. However, many use SSD now, might be a different story there.

Amnesia - I wound not know that I have a password manager. I wound be very screwed. No one else in family even understand what it is. I don’t know what to do about it. At least they know I have a Gmail account. But I don’t use it for logins. Maybe I can regain access to my domain with BankID. I have the password file on phone, server and on my workstation. So I will be fine regarding hardware failure.

Some users are required to use Windows. It could be the professional software for work only runs on Windows. Or system administrator are forced to use it in their IT environment. You don’t want it to get worse, as it will be more pain for them. You want the alternatives to be better, easy to get, (like every PC comes with a menu with what OS do you want to install). Full software support for everything would be a dream.

It is extreme hard to find a phone with Lineage OS preinstalled in the stores. Very hard to install it by my self, we can’t assume everybody can do this.

Is there any good gui application for mange these but also edit them in a user friendly way like getting a dropdown for a settings like: Yes/No, Country Sweden. Number size range etc. So include validation. Even nix os does not have that.
