2·20 days agoOne of the jump scares startled my wife so much that she reflexively smacked my arm. She normally doesn’t enjoy films like this, but we both ended up having a great time. Rachel McAdams was so good!

2·20 days agoDefinitely a solid watch that left me frustrated by how much power large corporations can wield, while ordinary people often lack the time and resources to hold them accountable.

Movies@lemmy.world•Project 4K77 Star Wars: A New Hope 1977 no CGIEnglish
3·22 days agoI found it much more enjoyable without the added CGI, as it allows the original filmmaking and practical effects to shine.
This is correct! I leave the possibility of a 10/10 rating open because the world hasn’t stopped creating films. As long as new movies continue to be made, there is always the chance that one will achieve what I consider true perfection.

0·26 days agoThe reason I say no sunscreen is cause they keep pulling them from the market for having a carcinogen called benzene. We have survived in the sun for thousands of years with out sunscreen and skin cancer is on the rise because people keep using sun screen. Marketing can be evil but do some research and you will find that we don’t need sunscreen. Just need to tan a little bit at a time and your skin can naturally deal with the sun as we have for thousands of years before sunscreen.

The best advice might come off dickish since the question is about how to deal with parents death. Do everything you can while they are alive answer their calls listen to their advice and just listen dont argue. Take them on vacations with you take them out to diner often. Learn what they like to eat and cook for them, have an open door policy with them. Invite them often and make them a priority. So when the borrowed time is up you will have no regrets. Hug them like its the last time whenever you see them and most importantly be patient with them as it will come a day when you will not be able to do any of the above and you will trade it all for one more call from them!

31·28 days agoWe cant have nice things cause most people are pigs leave their garbage on the beach instead of taking it with them. The issue is not the food the issue is dirty people that have no self awareness. Take the garbage with you and keep the beaches clean and no one would complain. I was at the beach for 4th of July and people are pigs!

6·1 month agoStay focused on your goals and don’t let trolls or negativity distract you. Not every comment deserves a response. Ignore them or mute them and keep moving forward.
it’s about staying true to your values and setting the example. People respect consistency, confidence, and discipline. Keep doing what you believe is right, and let your actions speak louder than your words.

8·2 months agoBricks and Minifigs have done so much damage to their image that just working with the family would have avoided all of this. Their stance was horrible and all the police interactions just made it way worse. I dont think they will ever recover. I wish the best to Reckless Ben for fighting the good fight!

I haven’t seen it yet, but my mom watched it and was so excited to tell me about it. It definitely caught my attention, so I’ll have to add it to my watch list!
