  • With the money they made from BG3 they have the means to make Divinity the best it can possibly be and I couldn’t be happier for them. The first two Divinity games were great, don’t get me wrong, but they were basically low budget when compared to the money they got from Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast to make BG3. I imagine they basically have “fuck you” money now and can do whatever the hell they want. They definitely deserve it and I can’t wait.

Edit: Turns out Larian is going to use gen AI for concept art. I guess fuck all those concept artists trying to get entry level jobs. Very disappointed.

  • I guess I’m confused because I didn’t know that “low budget” was now synonymous with “indie.” They are an indie dev that made their first game yet their game doesn’t count as “indie” because they had a budget? What about a game like No Man’s Sky? They were an indie dev that got promoted by Sony and everyone shat on it when it came out and said they bit off more than they could chew. In my opinion, that seems even less fair.

I’m not saying they deserved the award more than any other game, I enjoyed all the games nominated, I’m just saying that if E33 flopped I highly doubt anyone would call them more than an indie dev that tried to punch above their weight just like No Man’s Sky.

  • I went over to Reddit so I could keep track if the game awards because I didn’t have time to actually watch it. Holy shit the hate E33 is getting is completely ridiculous, as Reddit does. Whether you go to the Silksong, KCD2, Death Stranding, Dispatch, Arc Raiders, or any other games subreddit that was nominated for any award about half the comments saying E33 is trash, overhyped, and their game deserved to win instead. As someone that has enjoyed all of these games, the salt is absolutely bonkers. Most of the ones complaining are basically saying “I never played it but I heard they did [blank] so they don’t deserve [blank] award.”

I just don’t get why they need to shit on other people and the games they like just because their game didn’t win. Shit on TGA all you want, but the fans and the devs literally had nothing to do with winning. They were all great games and all deserve praise in their own ways. In two weeks none of us will give a shit anymore anyway and will probably be complaining that “RV There Yet” wins the “Most Innovative Gameplay” award on Steam. I mean, a flippin’ gacha game won the “Players Voice” Award and people are spending their time shitting on objectively good games.

  • I use windows 10 at home while I use windows 11 at work. The only thing I like about windows 11 is tabs in the file explorer. Besides that I’ve had to deal with Windows Explorer crashing on a daily basis, task bar freezing completely multiple times a week, certain software straight up not working that I need to get work done, programs crashing that work perfectly fine on 10, internet connectivity issues (usually DNS for some fucking reason), periodically hearing the disconnect sound for a device even when everything is still working, awful drop down menus, needing to change the registry just to get basic features that 10 has, and the list goes on and on. At home everything just works. I’ve been testing Linux and have been getting better stability than Windows 11 and I feel like every week there’s a new problem.

  • Back in like the late 2010s it was an old coworker of mine. He came in two years after i started and swooped in and took the promotion I was gonna get because he went to highschool with my bosses daughter. I’d be more mad at the boss but this guy was absolutely insufferable about it and would boast about it literally every day and talk about how awesome he was. Would always talk about how amazing he was at his job but would crack under pressure pretty much every time. He was also one of those guys that’s nice to your face but talks mad shit when you leave the room. Huge “fuckboy” energy too and always felt like he was entitled to everything. He was the kinda guy that would try to fuck your ex girlfriend the day you broke up yet still be friendly to your face. And I know that because my ex told me about it after the fact. Bro straight up sent her a request on Snapchat and Facebook out of the blue within a week after only meeting her once before.

Glad I don’t work with that guy anymore and that I have a much better job. That guy lives rent free in my head and I fucking hate that he does.

  • No, they’re using the internet in general. Discord is just a platform that they can talk on and it’s fairly easy to use. It’s not like Discord advertises these servers and gets people to join them. What’s really happening is that these people are either seeking out these servers or are being sent invites from people already inside.

My point is that Discord is not the issue. If they crack down on Discord they will just find somewhere else to go. You’d have to control the entire internet in a similar way to Russia or China in order to actually stop it this way. It’s a societal issue that they are trying to solve by censorship instead of actually fixing the underlying issues that push people to extremism. I’m sure the majority of these issues would be solved by a system that actually prioritized mental health and getting people the help they need instead of one that pushes these people out of society because they are “insane.”
