The good thing is that unlike the old QuickPic fiasco, here the apps are GPLv3, so these are 100% gonna be forked, still gonna see if i don’t keep all the eggs on a single basket
You can turn off automatic updates for now, that’s what i’ve done until i have replacements, either forks of these or alternative apps
New organization at https://github.com/FossifyX, looking at the discussions it looks like it’s off to a good start
Being burned out is no excuse to outright betray their users and principles. For the height of irony read this post by them from August…
And like clockwork the enshittification proceeds unabated
They should have added usernames YEARS ago, but instead they go and remove SMS support in the client…
Yes. 99% of what i use YT for these days is to follow the crafters i’ve been following for years, and part of the way to support them is liking and commenting on their videos. That’s what keeps me from moving to frontends or NewPipe.
And involved in crypto BS
The day i realized this and that i wouldn’t live to see said bright future was rather disheartening
Nope, for that use this one, which is also in Debian-based distros and Docker
For great justice?
Heh, it works, thanks! I do wish i could do the same on Firefox Focus on mobile but meh :P
Now i need to figure out the equivalent for Imgur, i wonder if it’s the same header, but will be tomorrow, stuff to do now
Since around the time they announced the API changes, every image hosted on Reddit, when opened on a browser shows it embedded on a page on Reddit instead of just giving you the damn image, like it used to do. It pisses me off. Need to figure out a way to return it to the previous behavior and just give me the damn images i asked for, maybe something with the user agent (when you ask it to download it instead of displaying it, or when getting it with wget or the like, it DOSE give you the image, so the way is there somewhere).
I too mostly use it at this point to follow creators, hobby stuff still lives almost exclusively on Youtube for now
Just yesterday wanted to create a new Gitlab.com account to add an issue to a project, the stupid thing not only required an email and a phone number, the bastards wanted a credit card
Just closed the site and went away instead. How is this considered okay to open a damn free account?
Well damn, i like this idea!
My main issue with Android keyboards is that i need multiple languages on the fly, i might be chatting in one language in one group and on another language on another, or even some limited mix and match in a single phrase. Currently using AnySoftKeyboard, since i can switch languages with a button, but oh damn is the prediction abysmal, looks like it only brings up all the potential words on any order and doesn’t even consider which one’s the most likely, no idea how’s it in reality but it feels like this.
If OpenBoard can cover my use case I’ll switch immediately.
I believe is the thing about requiring accounts for the Hue lightbulbs thing, which is obviously bonkers
Pretty much this, they don’t deserve hate but i won’t recommend them either
