Mh, that’s unfortunate. Do closed-source apps use less RAM? Like MS Office compared to Libre Office? Not sure if it would be fair to compare Safari to Librewolf since it’s probably optimized for MacOS. I think generally programs become less RAM efficient since people tend to have more nowadays.

I have been really appreciating open source software this year. I always preferred FOSS over the alternatives (Firefox, Thunderbird, Libre Office etc) but I tried to use it for as much as I could this year, even professionally.
Haven’t bootet into my Windows partition with Adobe Cloud for months now, it’s almost exclusively Inkscpape, Scribus, Blender and Krita on Fedora and I love it! I’m also slowly, slowly getting into Godot which seems like another piece of amazing software.
Sure there are some (very) rough edges here and there and I will have fire up Illustrator or Unity (🤢) at some point when clients demand it but I’m pretty amazed at how well it’s going.

I wasn’t cool enough to figure out how to “just boot into a snapshot” when I tried btrfs a while ago. I mean I did figure it out (maybe?) but somehow the read/write rights where messed up and the snapshot couldn’t actually boot/I wasn’t able to log in +___+ Just reinstalled the system eith good old ext4. It sounds really cool, though …

I think I’d still go for Lineage and install MicroG myself if I have the option, though.

Technically you can stream the music you purchased on Bandcamp from their site, would love some statistics how it compares since probably only few people use it and artists also get a very high percentage of the album price (50%?). I recently found OpenBoard as an alternative to Florisboard.
Now that I know what to do (switch audio codecs on sound icon in menu bar depending on being in a call or listening to music) it works better for me on Linux Feroda than on Windoge.
It does get a bit of getting used to (esp having only one sidebar) but I’m quite happy with Dolphin in dual panel mode.
Not sure if renaming “Extrakt here, autodetect subfolder” to “Extraxt here” is a smart move …
Sure, you’d find out that it does detect subfolders now even though it doesn’t say it but if I had not read this I would probably have assumed the removee the subfolder detection

Does xrandr work on Wayland? I thought it was an X11 tool. That would be so cool, I use it to change the brightness on my laptop’s monitor when KDE’s gui thing stops working (after sleep, I think). I think I looked for a replacement for Wayland but did not find anything a while back
