2200 participants Norway that they bucketed into 5 life tracks, so 440 average per group.
This is like looking at my highschool graduating class and trying to generalize to global politics…

Is Russia now the Chinese proxy state in a US - China proxy war?
(Fuck Putin/Russia btw I’m not a tankie. Just thought just occurred to me)

Not going to dox myself, but EU member country in the east. I was pretty annoyed. He in a kindergarten and I was told he needs to know how to read by 1st grade. I repeatedly asked the kindergarten when they’d teach him to read. No real plan, just kind of “when he’s ready”. I said fuck this and did it myself.
The kindergarten is Montessori and I think that’s the problem. They are pretty weird sometimes and learning must be done the Montessori way. They tried to tell me he didn’t know all his letters when he was already reading in the local language and English 😶

Sometimes. I made my kid learn to swim and now he begs to go to the pool vs. crying before. Some fun things have a learning curve

I’ve been looking for board games if you have suggestions. Video games I’m trying Zelda and Pokemon

It’s not “making” him in the sense of forcing a strong reader to sit down and read, but more teaching him I guess. My problem was that school was doing a shitty job imo, so I had to teach him myself, otherwise he’d be behind.
Now he can read, but it’s still early stages of literacy, so I “make” him, meaning I sit next to him and correct/help him when needed. He likes listening to me and others read, so if he was stronger at reading, I think it would be natural

I always time it so it’s when his friends aren’t home or doing homework when he’s reading.
He also has the “later” option to go play first. I think friends are very important too, so I try to adjust to that.

Good to hear. My son loves books when I read. I read to him for about 20-40 min/day and he’s often begging for more. It’s just that reading is an active effort at his age, so theres a natural resistance to reading on his own. I’m trying to find the fun/learning balance.

I have a ton of childrens books and he chooses what he wants to read. Today we dropped a boring book about animals for a starwars comic.
I know it’s supposed to be fun, but reading is also a learned skill, so there should be a balance I think. Reading isn’t easy at first.

So how does this affect the GDPR AI stuff? Would it be impossible got Germany to allow AI crave outs?

For others who also didn’t know, its this one I think

Damn. They forgot the whole Greenland thing real fast.
Plus, Microsoft products are shitty. What the hell

My hobby has me touching a lot of butts. After a while, it’s not interesting anymore

Which data center do you call home?

This was in San Diego. My childhood home was like your experience. Not sure where you were, but some places have a pretty stuck up culture. There are places that aren’t so toxic

When I lived there Americans would act like I was suffering because I chose to ride my bike home. They would push to give me a ride really hard.
If I tried to take a bus, they would rather drive me around than let me take the bus.
They were very kind, but god they are confused

I’ve studied statistics in depth, but my point stands. If they took 2200 people from Norway and try to say that it generalizes to global politics, it’s wildly unbelievable in my opinion.
If you fill a swimming pool full of red and yellow jelly beans with some ratio \mu and each of them have a hidden variable that determines the probability of them changing color 20 years from now, then you design a questionaire to determine the hidden variable. Based on your results, you attempt to claim that the swimming pool across the world has the same statistics…
Yeah. This isn’t jelly beans nor Norway nor the early 2000s
