Great game that is a horror shooter, but I wouldn’t call it a MilSim though. MilSims are usually games like Arma or Squad.

I think it can encourage unintended behaviors like karma farming.
I’ve seen similar trends in some FPS games in which during immediate game play your kill to death ratio is hidden to keep people engaged with the main loop instead of getting worked up over their stats.
This is super cool! Question though, can you play through different levels each attempt or does it always start at liberty island?
How much did you pause? I felt like I just kinda let it go at full speed and paused as needed which I know put me in rough spots.
This game gave me a stress that I can’t really express in words. Something about getting so close to the end and barely hanging on. They really nailed the anxiety and pressure that comes with a situation like that.
While this is the technicality they’ll die on, the value of the data in the transfer was 100% taken into account in this deal.
It’s the pray emoji bro
Big yes on this one. Especially if you include the mods that that combine the maps of all three games. It becomes an amazing open world survival experience.
This is the best way to look at it imo
With modern (non-multiplayer) games it always seems as though there’s a clear “main” chunk of the game. I usually try to complete that bit to feel as though I “beat” the game.
Main chunks are main story, levels, or getting beyond the main obstacle. Sandbox games are a good example of something outside this sphere and with those I simply enjoy the experience and don’t sweat completion.
I find myself playing more sandbox style games as things go due to time and skill commitments which has been an interesting change from when I was younger.
Check out all the old “immersive sims” like Deus Ex, Arx Fatalis, System Shock 2, and Thief.
If you’re cool with emulators, PSX has a metric ton of JRPGs that will absolutely devour your life.
Yeah I agree and am working on it in terms of engagement. Usability is going to be key for whichever platform eventually takes over. It could absolutely be Lemmy, but I’m watching for other possibilities as well.
The reality is that there was/is no reddit alternative and right now we’re all in this transitory phase where we’re all looking for a new home. We’ll all just have to wait for the dust to settle. Lemmy isn’t perfect but is improving and additionally other alternatives like kbin and tildes are in the works.
To your larger point, much of what you’re feeling is the abrupt break in habits. I’ve been using the gap to develop more positives ones, and it’s been great.
Holy shit, just casually dropping that they’re working on a new Perfect Dark is crazy.
I think no, so much of what makes the Steam Deck great is SteamOS. Plus my understanding is that this things battery life isn’t very good.
That being said, still appears to be a competent competitor and I’m here for that.
Yeah they are really but a shell of their former selves at this point. While I’m not at all for this merger, I would love to see some of their IPs in fresh hands.
Alright you convinced me and I made an account. I love that it more effectively interfaces with the rest of the fediverse. Is there a better search function though? I’d love to follow some official Mastodon users like Reuters or Ars Technica but the main search doesn’t let me filter for specifics.
It’s just part of a new environment. I started using reddit well after it was fully established. Just so happens we don’t have much of an alternative. I totally understand not wanting to mod a community, seems like most don’t want to. That being said, it’s going to take some time and effort to replicate what we’re losing.
Which are totally badass ultimately lol
