Hmm.

It’d be interesting for to see a forum whereby it’s all readable by anybody, but only those at the top of their fields can post/comment.

I imagine there’d be a gap between those comments and what the rest of us can understand but I kinda like the idea in terms of ensuring we get intelligent, well thought out, comments on important news stories.

Chicken salt is delicious but not traditionally on fish and chips.

This sounds like my Ubuntu xp as well. Although I haven’t had the arch xp to compare it against which makes me slightly hesitant to jump in.

I’m pretty tempted to revamp my old laptop to arch though. Just needs funds for enough personal storage first.

Whilst this was a very entertaining read, you dropped your pedanticness (pedantry?) when you started calling Lemmy communities ‘subreddits’.

If we can’t call a tomato and cheese toasty a grilled cheese with tomato we definitely can’t call these communities subreddits! :D

As someone else said, it may be to see who’s likely to fall for more sinister scams, or a phishing scam to get people’s addresses etc

The aim of ‘chatting up’ seems different in a library :D

Let me know which one you are joining. I liked the way the short stories sibreddit was going before I left whereby they gave prompts and word limit challenges on the same days each week.

I think a VPN will then help with this.

When they fly away they first fly up and backwards. So if you come at them from this angle you’ll hit them a lot more often.
