Recently I switched from Apple Music to Spotify free/Navidrome. I am moving my library to Navidrome slowly. I have done a similar thing in the past as well.
I noticed that both times, as well as trying out new speakers, the first song I listened to was In the End by Linkin Park, followed by their latest album.
What is yours?
Edit: Holy Shit! I was not expecting so many replies. It is not possible for me to reply to everyone right away. I will listen to each of your first songs and reply to everyone.
Edit: Holy Shit!..
We’re like Hobbits. Very compatible with simple and to the point.
Brian Eno, Silver Morning
The cranberries Zombie. Possibly the best song out there
omg I have heard this song before and thought it was a banger but did not know the name. Thank you!
Song for the Dead, by Queens of the Stone Age
I’m choosing Iron Maiden’s Powerslave today
Mo3 Slide on em.
Angel - massive attack.
Tests both the low end and the high end frequencies really well, plus it’s an incredible track and well produced
First time I DJd, I cleared the floor because I really wanted to hear Angel on big, club speakers.
No ragerts.

Genesis by justice for the bass and delight by jamie berry to test how they fare with cymbals and trumpets (i found that if a speaker has problems with the band pass filters/ channel separation it sounds awful).
Plus they sound awesome for their respective genres.
Cymbals and trumpets are always really telling about the quality of a recording.
Bohemian Rhapsody. Every time.
It’s the correct answer. I’m not a particularly big fan of Queen, but it’s the best song for testing a new speaker’s range.
Ace of spades - Motorhead.
The Wreck of the Edmond Fitzgerald by Gordon Lightfoot.
Nah, I’m just kidding. For real, Come Into Me by The Mavericks. But the FLAC version I have, obviously.
That album is a masterpiece, as far as I’m concerned. I will never tire of it, and it really gives my speakers a workout.
Big fan of 65daysofstatic ever since No Man’s Sky
Always The Damned - Damned Damned Damned volume set to 11…
Tiptoe Through the Tulips.
