Transistor at ~4€ is great, I’ve been meaning to dig into the dev’s older games after Hades since it looks like they’re all of the same quality

That’s the thing I had Bastion from forever ago, then recently played Hades and I was like “oh my god they’re all bangers” so now I have to catch up on the in between. I even un-ignored Pyre cause even if it’s tagged visual novel, I got so involved in the relationship aspect of Hades that I figure eh might as well give it a shot

Transistor is amazing. Be aware that it was free on the Epic store at some point, so if you redeem games a lot you may already have it in your inventory.

Unique in that it spawned its own kind of genre, but in broad strokes they’re turn based strategy games.

Heroes of Might and Magic 3 is the most popular, and consensus is that after the 5th game, things went downhill significantly, so I wouldn’t pay much mind to the ones after that.

Given the popularity of HoMM3, you can find tons of videos online going over its core mechanics, so if youre interested, it’s easy to get a better understanding.

They’re extremely fun and addicting games. A certain charm to it as well, especially with the third game.

GOG.com is great. Almost all the games I remember playing as a teenager for mere single digit amounts. My latest purchase was FEAR, but my library is full of mid 90s to early 2000s stuff.

DRM-free is the best part. I’ve downloaded offline installers for all my games and stored them on my NAS as a backup.

For $4, I might have to double dip on Contra Anniversary Collection. It’s also on sale on Xbox for the same price.

@Los Grabbed CC3, SMAC, X-COM: Apocalypse and Incoming. I tend to like Gog for the retro games still. Going to wait for Steam sale for more. Steam deck has definitely caused me to prefer steam a little bit more even though I do play games from other stores with Lutris/Heroic on it.
