Mine is black.

Before anyone starts, I don’t wanna hear it, black is a color!

    Teal.

And the sad thing is that there’s apparently no name for it in my language (Portuguese). I have to say “green-ish blue” or “blue-ish green”.

I’ll give you my three favorites:

    • Cosmic latte (#FFF8E7 or 42°, 9%, 100%)
    • Eigengrau (#16161D or 240°, 24.1, 11.4)
    • OLO (#00FFCC or 168°, 100, 100)

Now, all of these given values are approximations of colors that are either difficult or impossible to truly measure or portray on screen, but… They also happen to look SWEEEET together in a palette!

I think that a color needs a context for me to pick it. I don’t want my oven to be green. I don’t want my hair to be khaki. I like certain items or textures in certain colors. Any color looks awful as a giant uniform rectangle on a screen. I don’t have a favorite color period, it all depends. Color of what? Color for what?

Purple is a great colour. It’s rich, royal and feels expensive… That’s why it was my favourite for a long time … But then I realized that Green is the middle of our visual spectrum. Midway between red and Violet/purple. Our eyes actually evolved to center on green and everything else was an outlier. It’s really mother naturey and that makes sense to me.

I like both Purple/Violet and Green but for different reasons

That deep, metallic red that Mazda uses to paint their cars. So gorgeous. Especially as nail polish. Hubba hubba.
