More competition is always good for us customers. Looking forward to it. I hope they have open-source drivers.
I love more GPU competition but I have doubt though. How did they manage to design, validate, tape out the chip and write windows/linux driver in less than 2 years?
It’s nice that there is new players entering the market, but I think we need a diversity of designs too. Why play catch-up with games when you can pioneer MR (mixed reality) oriented maths?
Anyone remember Voodoo? Not much has changed since then and even then I felt they missed an opportunity to do cooler stuff. Sure, Nvidia and others have added “AI” pipelines but it’s all still basically the same old approach and the same old thinking.
It’s not bad for the market segment it’s entering, we just need to see the price if it aligns with AMD’s price-quality of yesteryear… If they are then more affordable for an unpretentious configuration are perfect products.
why 1080p and not higher resolution? LoL isn’t that of a demanding game.
They only built a GPU from scratch in a couple of years, but no biggie.
