And well, it’s basically criticizing Obama. After 9/11, Bush started the “War on Terror”, which was way outside of any proportion (9/11 had 3k casualties, the War on Terror is now at 800k+ casualties and 37 million had to flee from their homes).
As such, many people were hoping Obama would end this war. And well, he basically just didn’t.
I remember at the time, it was said that he actually still ordered quite a lot of drone strikes (though I cannot judge that).
With the context of 2022, we can relativize that, though. Trump did end up signing a deal to pull out of Afghanistan, which went into effect last year when Biden was already in power. And well, that went catastrophically bad, too.
So, obviously continuing the war isn’t a solution, but maybe Obama didn’t pull out, because he expected this to happen.
