I know it’s not a flop because I haven’t been able to get one. If it had been a flop, then the line would not be this long.
If anything, Valve massively underestimated the demand.
The comments section is hilarious. Hopefully it continues to do well, looks great a good addition to the Linux / handheld ecosystem.

Also this was an interesting take from comments “They don’t need to sell 100M of these things, just enough to prove SteamOS is a viable alternative to Windows, which I think is really what Valve is after.”

I assume they are counting the preorders they are shipping in that time frame or are these fresh sales?
Probably the actually paid for systems after that 5$ reservation (wasn’t a real pre-order).
