A Swiss court has ruled that ProtonMail, as an email service, is not a telecommunications provider, meaning we are not subject to a telecommunications provider’s enhanced data retention obligations.
I think email is just inherently not private. The sooner people realize that and use better alternatives for private messages the better. Email is fine for work and mundane talk. Trying to turn it into something that is not will never happen.
Even supposedly educated people don’t get it. My doctor wanted me to send him some health information by email a month ago. It’s a good job my blood pressure is under control or I might have exploded.
