I’m glad I could help!
Yeah, I’ve been using Paint.NET for years now. I never could find a foss replacement. It’s that amazing in my experience.

Gimp is way too complex for my needs, but Paint is too light in abilities.
So I use Paint.NET.
I’d rather use Pinta since that is open-source, but last I checked it was kind of abandoned.
The normal average temperature for a human body. Some people run slightly hotter or colder than that.
For example, my body naturally runs slightly colder than that, almost an entire degree colder, but it’s normal for my body.
I actually am not; I just assumed that a customs broker was someone who brokers customs transportation for goods & supplies, for international shipping and the like.
Am I incorrect?
Hell yeah! Congrats!
Threads. :P
(P.S. I’m joking; please don’t sign up for it. You deserve better, friend.)
Stopped being a selfish piece of shit and turned my life around.
I’m now happily married four years, I have a job (that I hate, but hey it’s a job), and I finally feel like I’m a good person (overall).
Because good luck finding a phone nowadays that’s at a bit thicker than 1/4". (It’s a shame really; I kinda miss those older, thicker phones…)
I’ll have to check those out!
Thank you!
That’s fair. Like I said, I mostly don’t use them. But if I really need to remember something in the short term, I’ll put it on the desktop. Or if I don’t really have any other place to put it I’ll put it there.
My point is that it’s useful to have when you need it, even if you don’t normally use it. Although I suppose it wouldn’t be difficult necessarily to find a new workflow. Still, to most everyday people I imagine desktop icons are kind of a non-issue.
I have opened in a tab that article you sent me. If keeping such an otherwise minor feature available is such a problem for future development for developers, I will have to read that. Because it otherwise seems almost inconsequentially small a detail when compared to the OS / file system experience as a whole.
Never heard of that series either. Haha. Is it on GOG?
Thanks. I love metroidvanias, though I only like Souls-lite Souls-likes (e.g. Metroid Dread). Might check it out, though. :)
Antiquated? Hardly. Lots of people still use desktop icons.
(Unless you’re referring to Gnome users; maybe it’s different with that subset. I’m more referring to computer users in general.)
Also, that is interesting! I’ll read it sometime! Thanks!
I’ve never heard of this game before. Is it any good?
I…don’t get it.
Not sure about the similarities here, but I actually love GTK when it comes to app design. It’s one of the things I miss about Linux in Windows. (Yes, I’m a Windows user—not by choice, though.) About the only thing I hate about it is that for some reason a lot of GTK app designers think a simpler design should mean less functionality. Gimme my damn right-click context menus dammit! >_<
Do not misunderstand me. I don’t generally use a lot of desktop icons. For the most part, the fewer icons are on my desktop the better, but I do have a few.
But back when Ubuntu briefly got rid of them, it sucked because occasionally I do want some icons on my desktop.
In short: if you don’t wanna use any, you don’t have to; just gimme the damn option.
Also, I never said I dislike Gnome.
Also, what kind of monster has desktop icons or files in 2023?
Most people.
I do not understand the problem with this image.
Would you please explain?
Honestly, Newpipe is perfect for me for the most part. I love it. About the only things I want from it are, in order from most to least,
The ability to mark multiple videos as watched! (So when I subscribe to a new channel I don’t have to individually mark as watched 50 separate video entries.)
The ability to read comment replies (to at least one level).
For Newpipe to stop displaying “Sorry something went wrong” on every. single. video. even though it doesn’t actually fail displaying the video or comments or related videos.
Either way, keep up the good work! <— Not sarcasm, FYI.
