Showerthoughts@lemmy.world•We should popularize using the guillotine as a symbol of the common man.English
21·8 days agoOf course there is. But we must do our parts to try and end it. Idk how though, I am new to politics but I know enough to know what’s right and wrong, imo.
I just watched a video on YouTube from a neurobiologist that explained how short form content really harms your brain and, since, have reduced my exposure by at least 75%.
i liked the comic.

32·8 days agoi think people exaggerate. i don’t think they really want political violence, but i could be wrong.
edit: i mean, if they really mean it then we have a lot more progress to cover as far as becoming the utopia that most people want. please don’t misconstrue my point. we should want to go forward not backward as it sometimes seems.
three hours, tho…?
cool. i will try that. i need to volunteer somewhere anyway. i feel lost not helping people in some way. my anxiety gets the best of me, but i am working on it.

All of that is directly tied to perspective. You could easily reframe it to something good. Cognitive reframing is your friend. It helps you look at a seemingly bad situation and see the good, even if miniscule, that came out of it. Sometimes you really have to look. If you have learned anything from the experience that counts as good. If you didn’t, you need clearer hindsight. To achieve that, you must introspect yourself and do a social autopsy of all your actions leading up to it, and ask yourself, “What could I have done differently” This takes practice but it really helps add meaning to stressful situations.

10·9 days agoIf you think about it it makes sense. Being a black car means less visibility at night so they get chop shopped. The same goes for accidents.

Well, peace cannot come unless there is some sort of conflict first whether that is war or a disagreement, it is necessary to achieve peace. So I get your points.
