So this is exactly how it always goes. The fact it is still here means it’s staying. Look at Threads, or Metaverse, whatever those things are. All dying or dead, barely lasted. Lemmy is still here, people are still posting, so just keep doing what you’re doing. It’s already working.

I love tribes - I even still have the same mousepad from when I played it last - but I want to warn people this is being made by Prophecy Games, who have straight up abandoned their last game. Starsiege Deadzone, put out in July, is already dead. Take a look at the steam charts for proof. I want Tribes more than most other old IPs, but we have to be real cautious with our hype, so to speak.

This is an incredibly narrow view of people, and what ‘obvious’ is. This sentence is absolutely awful if you’re ESL in any way:

Even I stumbled for a second on that sentence. What the hell does ‘appear warmer’ mean? Colour, hue, saturation, is there a temperature reading on them? It can snow at zero degrees, but that middle image could be -20 for all we know; it’s in shadow and the only non-cool-colour in it is that orange rectangle.

I mean, to me, it’s obvious that you add an apostrophe to ‘don’t’ but you didn’t. Your sentence also doesn’t end with a period. Does that mean I get to call you out for missing such an ‘obvious’ thing, and insult you for not doing it? You know, how obvious and dead simple writing your sentence correctly would be.

Also, following treaties signed under duress and in situations of radically unequally power dynamics isn’t too reasonable either.

I’m not sure the alternative to following treaties signed under duress is to not even follow said treaties. We can give them all sorts of land that we barely use, nobody is actually suggesting we give them back downtown Vancouver. The issue is we just shrug and go ‘yeah well people live in places now’.

I can deflect the doxxing slightly by saying it’s more than one. The first rhymes with Wicrosoft and the other is too small and would definitely doxx me. However I have friends all over the industry, and can confirm identical reactions from places with names similar to Acti… mizion, Sledge…wammer Ztudios, 434… endustries, Pioware… Grames?

Or hell, what if I play the game for 20 minutes and hate it? Do they pay me? Do I give them 25 cents?

Morrowind has good writing in it too, though. I think we can all agree nobody should be paying ‘dollars per hour’ while wandering completely lost and annoyed ;)

If you think that giant companies don’t look at social media responses to their games in order to make future decisions, I have a bridge to sell you.

I’ve been part of Community Management at a major studio, and I was told to stop ‘wasting their time’ with customer feedback, so which bridge is it?

The problem is an hour of what. Me wandering around trying to find something described vaguely and being frustrated, is not the same as an hour of well written and interesting dialogue.
