Remember, this is the same man that thinks the stealth bomber is literally invisible, or that you neutralize a magnet simply by getting it wet, or that you take fries out of the boiling oil with your hands (he learned you don’t while doing his pretend day at McDonald’s).
When companies have to start funding their own networks because ISPs are all down, or just known to be compromised due to bad actors, it’s going to hit capitalism over the head pretty hard. This is a great way to tank the stock market though if you are betting against “Tech” companies.

Well if they say their doing it, then surely they are, and not just because the law your trying to change required them to. It’s like when Republicans want to deregulate the banks because they are doing so well not exploiting predator loans and/or over leveraging loans trying to make even more $. Deregulation cannot, and will not, work in a capitalist environment. Regulation is the guard rails required to keep capitalism from cannibalizing itself.

But why must they also allow bigotry if they allow people to express who they are? That is the biggest load of shit. So if I say “I have a husband of X years,” they must also allow someone to say a bunch of bigotry as a counter view?
Or if I say I like open source software they must allow the trolls that want to call me a dirty hippie and tell me to get a job so I can pay for software? And I agree everything is political, and ignoring it doesn’t make it any less so.
The having to do something is the cost, because they have a perfectly good messaging app already, “why can’t you just use that?”
And that cost is more on Apple’s platform because Apple has been designing it that way since the beginning. It’s the whole reason android users got a different color bubble, not because they had to, but it was a way to identify the person that wasn’t using an iPhone and make them stand out. Making it almost unimaginable to switch to Android for youth who care so much about not being “out” of the group.
And Google has identified this, and put a lot of cringe-worthy effort into addressing it at their Pixel event this time around.
Well pre-RCS they routed android users differently because they were not compatible. Google did something similar, but in reverse, adding back things like reactions, etc. to make android users not feel like they were getting a 2nd rate experience.
Companies like Apple spent a lot to create a switching cost in almost every product. The “bubble” color is also a HUGE thing in the US, and is often times the sole reason for not wanting to leave iMessage.
I have heard “lint” or “delint”/“delinting” in terms of checking scripts for syntax errors and such, I have never heard it used in terms of deduping a filesystem, since that already has a term for it.
I feel like at least with American english people have taken a lot of liberties in how they spell a name and then want it pronounced.
And I first read it as Ra-sh, but also could see it as Ray-sh.

Not a boomer, but was in Uni in '99. The '99/00 new year was a wild time because everyone waited to see if something had its update missed that would cause mass chaos.
In the end nothing of consequence happened.
Double check that math. 😜 It feels like only a few years ago, and it being a quarter century seems impossible.
Never heard of them, and their site doesn’t leave me filled with confidence. They make a big deal about using a slower algorithm, call it zero trust, but also have a client that mounts your “drive” local seamlessly. In order to do that though your files need to be unencrypted before your OS can read them. So the client needs to be constantly encrypting and decrypting your files since it hypothetically has zero knowledge of your files at rest on their server.
I could see files getting scrambled/corrupted when it’s being uploaded and downloaded in rapid succession.
Edit - You also shouldn’t consider it a backup if you’re accessing the files constantly like Dropbox. You are essentially just paying for a mountable S3 drive, not a backup.
A rolling release is probably better long term. Arch for example currently has Nvidia drivers as far back as for Fermi (GeForce 400/500) cards.

Oh man, the conspiracy theories that would have come out of Trump deep frying his paws. The Right wing propaganda machine went crazy when Trump had issues at his UN visit over stuff the UN said was at least partly due to his own team.
