  • I use lemmy pretty much exclusively on mobile, so I didn’t see the rule list when I was posting there. If I did I wouldn’t have bothered posting. To be honest it’s a stupid rule anyway. Any post that doesn’t support the echo chamber is immediate trolling and grounds for a ban? Stupid.

Keeping in mind I didn’t see the rules, I didn’t think it would be an issue to have a discussion about that specific instance and point out that it may not be the best example of what the sub is for. That’s why I found the body cam, watched it, and pointed out the specific time stamps that supported the article that was posted, and went against what the person I was talking with was saying. That same person who, it turns out, is also the mod that banned me. Yeah, I got snarky, but it was only on response to the snark that was directed at me first. And the ban happened after I posted the video proving the points that I was making.

  • No, I specifically said in the reply that I got banned. I was commenting on my own post saying I figured it out.

Not whining either. Didn’t notice rule 2 since I use lemmy on mobile and don’t make a point to look for the sidebar on every community, but honestly? That’s a pretty shitty rule. You want a community about police problems, but won’t actually have a discussion that doesn’t follow the echo chamber. I agreed there is a police problem, just that specific case wasn’t a good instance.

Wanna talk about shitty reddit things? How about echo chambers and mods who ban people for not following the echo.
