  • Amazon allows and even encourages dogs. They aren’t allowed in meeting rooms or other shared spaces like the kitchen or cafe. I bring my girl in 4 days a week. She stays tethered to my desk, but maybe I’ll get a dog gate for my whole aisle if everyone is fine with it since everyone on my team likes her.

Edit: cool, so, lemmy is anti dog. I live in a super dog friendly city, so it makes sense for me. It may not make sense for y’all. No worries. :)

  • When FFXIV implemented better blocking tools this past summer, there was an option when blocking a single character to block the entire service account. This would be fine, but the implementation they went with is client side, and when you select that option, you get the service account ID. Which means that if you’re blocked by someone, you can’t made an alt character to stalk/harass them. But with third party tools, we can see this account ID. The stalker could just use a new account and find the person’s account ID that they were harassing and find any alt character they have in the game. They’re changing this soon as a third party tool popped up and is now able to do this, full source code leaked so there’s no shutting it down until the game devs change how it’s done.

This sounds super similar, but the implementation that you had to do for google is crazy.

  • Hops cover up shitty beer very easily. That’s a big part in it.

Even with a dozen microbreweries within a walk of my house, it’s over half IPAs. I love them, but my wife is sad about the lack of stouts. There’s a couple of good breweries with solid stouts, so it’s not too bad.

  • Check out how successful Dick’s is in Washington. They have so many locations now. Their first location was Wallingford, Seattle. It’s about a 1 mile walk from the U district, where a lot of the college kids hang out. Now, Dick’s has a location in most major districts of Seattle, mostly around bars, and even outside of Seattle. They are cheap ($2.50 for a cheeseburger) and super fast because they don’t do customizations with a limited menu. Mostly window only walk up pick up, no dine in (except for the one outside the hockey stadium, but it’s standing only).

    You’ve got the right idea.
