    The benchmarks also show a ton of variance between distros which makes me think the testing methodology might be off here.

      Actually interesting point my theory is that variations of Kernel and scheduler defaults across various Distros might be different.

      Example Ubuntu is using slower CPU governor e.g. powersave, while ClearLinux is set to performance. If I am not mistaken those are the defaults which theoretically could influence the end score.
