Quite a diverse selection of games this year. Spent WAY too much time on Steam this year.

Are there a lot of bots and casuals that keep these medians so low or do I need the get outside more?
The average steam user barely plays 8 hours in a week.
Bot accounts bringing avg down
I don’t have a problem, I can stop gaming any time I want!

This row of games is 92% of my playtime, there were a bunch of other games from my collection but I only played them briefly here and there.

100% Deck, it’s currently my only PC.
man i need to learn how to play BG3 with the controller. I tried it on the deck and the controls melted my brain cause i was too used to mouse and keyboard
I have a M & K available, and play docked a fair percentage of the time, but when I’m docked, I still prefer the console controls over M & K for BG3.
Much more streamlined, the intractable UI is not as busy, and the whole game is much cleaner-looking (95% of what you’re looking at is the game world when you have no UI elements calledup… whereas the M&K UI are taking up a chunk of screen real estate all the time).
Hail to the King, baby 😎

My favorite was all my playtime for 3 months, going thru the initial campaign, then fell off a cliff

Year of the Linux desktop!
Here here!!!

Once again dominated by stardew valley for me
The steam deck is just too ideal of a form factor to play stardew valley, isn’t it

I don’t play that much on the deck but had a couple of days off work because of sick kid so it was a life saver.
I only just installed GTA5 Enhanced Edition this month and it already took over as the most played game of the year 🤨
Didn’t Shadow of the Erdtree come out in the spring? My play time in ER is only slightly under GTA5EE and it was all I played through spring and summer.

The Deck has been my only gaming PC for a while lol
CK II on steamdeck? How easy is it to navigate the UI?
It takes a bit to figure out a good keybind setup and you have to use the trackpad for a lot of stuff, but it’s not too bad overall. It wasn’t inconvenient enough for me to grab my bluetooth keyboard at any point at least.
Same!

This might change next year, though… I see a Steam Machine in my future.

How was E33 on the Deck? I didn’t play much of it there, I was afraid parries and dodges would be a bit of a nightmare to time perfectly.
It’s a lot better after the update a few days ago, but back when I played it I actually installed a performance mod to make it run a lot smoother. I thought it was very playable, but I’m also trash at dodging/parrying consistently. I’m assuming it was more of a skill issue than the game’s performance though.
That’s good, does it still look like shit though? So far it’s been a game I just only play on desktop
There are some video on youtube, it’s still kinda blurry but the game is still pretty beautiful imo. Definitely won’t look as good as it does on desktop.
The math isn’t mathing here. (Also I’m not that big of a gamer, clearly.)

The only part I want to share is this:

You beast! I just managed to reach 58 days :(

Chained Echoes was just fantastic
It really is. I’ve heard good about Sea of Stars, which is on my shortlist.
Sea of Stars just didn’t click for me. Having a cook fight side by side two trained-for-life combatants was terrible for immersion.
I like my stories to be a bit more gritty too, it feels sanitized.
Sea of Stars is one of my all time favourite game. I love nearly every aspect of the game.
But I can understand that some aspects of it can aim a specific type of players
Played it this year, too. The start felt a bit slow but I really loved it!
