Right now, I’m playing the early access version of Baldurs Gate 3. I’m getting ready to put it down (frustrated: BG3 has the potential to be good, but without controller support, I’m getting really frustrated with the UI. ) and switch to Yakuza Like a Dragon.

What are you playing now and what are you looking forward to playing next?

I have one, but borrowed it to my neighbor to try it out and see if he wants to purchase one. :)

I don’t play on it often honestly, but I mainly use it if I’m going to bed and don’t want to sleep, flying, visiting in laws, or want to play controller games. It’s console lite for me.

I played Brotato on it for way too many hours.

It’s pretty much the same for me, basically only use it when I’m to lazy to sit infront of the pc or I’m simply just not at home.

I do have to admit the syncing over Steam works amazingly, I can stop playing on my pc sit on the couch and my latest save is already on there.

It does work really well, but doesn’t sync when you’re playing offline and want that to go back to your desktop or want the hours to show up. :(

I had a similar problem when trying to sync non-steam games, then I stumbled upon syncthing. I’m hosting it on my Pi, so it would sync for me even when I’m offline, but being at a different place is an issue then.

Meh, I don’t care to solve for it personally. No one will see my hours and that’s not a bad thing. 😋

I have been playing a lot of BotW and DRG on it. Playing BotW on it is amazing, for DRG or mainly any shooter on it there is the problem of me not being used to aim with the gyro properly yet.

I have 400 steam games, a Series X, a PS5, a Switch OLED, a gaming PC, but I spend most of my time playing Brotato on my Steam Deck.

    Playing Cyberpunk and Ace Combat.

As a toddler+newborn dad I flat out need the option of playing on TV or in bed, and instantly flipping on or off.

I honestly never dreamed of something like this when I grew up gaming on Windows 95+. Can’t wait 'til I can game with my sons.

Not the same games but exact same vibe. Need to be able to turn it off literally minutes after I start. Can’t wait to game with the kids. I want them to be older already but also not yet.

Just started playing Persona 5 Royal. I’ve got a ton of looong RPGs installed, and nowhere close to enough free time for them.

I love how simple it is to play games on the Steam Deck The user interface is straight-forward, like it is with the other gaming consoles

PRO TIP: Turn Off the FPS Counter, you get to enjoy the game you are playing MORE

Steam Deck is great but I’ve been stuck on Tears of the Kingdom. Once I finish that, ill probably hop back on Hades or Signalis.

Last game I played on it, yesterday, was Just Cause 3. It’s… not great. The game just doesn’t run consistently enough and is too CPU heavy.

I recently played Red Dead Redemption 2 on it, that was great. Surprisingly so. I’m playing Skyrim now. I’ve had the game for years but never took the time to properly get into it. I beat the main quest and messed with mods back in the day but that’s it.

Now, I’m playing it vanilla and I want to just go deep into the game, completely ignoring the main quest, I don’t want to be the hero, if the universe needs saving, it can find someone else. Khajiit have caves to explore and stuff. Oh and the new Survival Mode is neat!

I literally haven’t played my PC since getting my steam deck, it’s fantastic. When they make a Steam Deck 2 I’ll preorder it.

Pro-tip I’ve discovered: Don’t trust Steam’s “not supported” flag. It’s probably supported fine, if you can enter a command line to bypass the launcher. 99% of the “not supported” guys are launcher problems. And you can play your Epic and GOG games through Heroic Launcher.

Played MGS5 through to completion, worked flawlessly. Played through the Kingdom series. Been playing Offworld Trading Company. Call of Juarez Gunslinger. Mortal Kombat 11. Devil May Cry 5. Played Elite Dangerous a bit just to make sure it would (requires bypassing launcher but works). Going to do a replay of Fallout New Vegas here once I’m done with OTC, or maybe Fallout 4 or Outer Worlds. Also been meaning to throw Cyberpunk at it to see how it handles but I don’t suspect it’s gonna present a problem.

Seriously, these things are the missing link in PC gaming.

I am currently playing Red Dead Redemption 2 on my deck, performs well enough (the major concern is the affect to the battery if playing handheld). Keyboard required for first time set-up (virtual keeb didn’t work).

    Others:

No Man’s Sky - endless playability imo and was my go to when I purchased

Planet Zoo - I haven’t actually played on deck yet, but I got my desktop setup where I only need to use the mouse, and plan to try the strategy on my deck.

Dofromantik - this is a relaxed puzzle game that is very good on deck

Podman - containerization is a game, and the deck is a Linux computer after all :)

I love dofromantik. I play it when other games have me wanting to rage. It’s relaxing but also has some depth.

Currently playing through Ori and the Blind Forest on my Deck. It’s like it was made for that form factor.
