It might be possible, but someone first needs to work on it. For me its far down the list of priorities, considering that you can just make a new account, and put a link to the old account in the bio.
Changing your user? no. I’m not even sure if the instance hosts can do that for you.
But you can change your display name on the settings tab. I do it often.
