I’m curious about if those that decided to leave reddit and found a home here miss anything from reddit or like it here more.

    Well this is cheating because I’m still on Reddit, but honestly I have to say that I don’t find Lemmy lacking. Lemmy is very much like how Reddit used to be when it was good. Simple pages, straightforward delivery of content. Only thing Lemmy lacks is the massive user base, which has its pros and cons.

        I think the primary reason is that Fediverse isn’t commercially driven. Much like the internet of old, it’s just a bunch of people running servers because they enjoy doing it. The motivation is very different from commercial social media where the goal is to monetize the users of the platform. Fediverse is the internet by the people for the people the way it was always meant to be.
