That reminds me that I need a better router. I have the shitty one that your ISP gives you. Need a proper one in which I’m able to install some cuality firmware.
I have an old Archer C7 v2, which has been running OpenWrt for probably around 10 years now. It’s just perfect for me, and still up to date thanks to this project !
Archer C6 v2 EU is sold here as new yet even having already 3 years.
I have seen other models being sold even for 5 years.
The newest Archer C7 v5 is apparently not as good for running OpenWRT, but I have a v4 and that one works great.
I can understand that they’re sold for such a long time, these things are real beasts.
The great news is that people like me that still didn’t learn how to use this router OS through the command line (I only have practice in Cisco ones and Mikrotik) have self-migration of the configuration through Luci.
