Hello, my name is Cris. :)
Personally I quite enjoy stupid jokes, but it’s not like I super miss them. I just have a soft spot for bad puns and low effort word play
Was that a feature of simple dialer? There’s a separate call blocking app but I haven’t played with it and tried to make it work, not sure if it might be useful to you. You might have to use it as your phone app

Gotcha, I’m using the setting to have the call take up the whole screen so I wasn’t aware of some of these issues
Koler is decent if not perfect. I really like the interface though :)

You’re very welcome ❤️ I think understanding why things are the way they are is important if we want any agency over it, I always appreciate folks who share their material knowledge of a subject
Hope you have a good one man, take care :)
On one hand I agree schadenfreude is a dangerous thing that one should be careful about how they engage in
On the other hand he wields a LOT of power over our discussions as a society because he owns a successful platform. If twitter fails it takes away some of his power to be a shithead and to shape our discussions in a way that sucks (ie, inviting everyone to be bigots and to be cruel to their fellow humans on a scale that’s frankly kinda horrifying)
Despite the down voters I appreciate you sharing the context about USA law around ADAS. Not a fan of this, but understanding how we got to a place where cars have this kind of privacy violation baked in is helpful
This is an excuse to share that my favorites as a kid were pit droids, and vuffy raa (or something like that?) which I found in one of my brother’s Star Wars books. It’s a big metal tentacle star fish guy and he’s real cool.
Edit: its vuffi raa

Also, is there an independent Star Wars wiki? I couldn’t find one?
For whatever reason my brain initially interpreted the picture as some of the most awful mac and cheese I’ve ever seen 😅
Looks delicious!
I would very much like it if I were eating that…
Yay technology connections! My favorite pedantic internet nerd! Was excited to find he’s on mastodon
The video posted is actually all about what the competition is like :) its hard to compete with a huge company like wikia/fandom, but folks are making it work anyway, and that’s pretty cool. I really enjoyed the video
I’d be very curious to hear more details on this, do you happen to have a source handy, or any recommended reading?
In fairness, the money he gets from being a scumbag with fandom probably can’t be used to fund Wikipedia unless he wants to donate the money he’s making from his business to run his nonprofit. It’s not surprising he wouldn’t do that (even if thats the way the world ought to work) and I don’t presently have reason to believe he personally gets anything out of the donations that are given to keep Wikipedia running
Firefly and cowboy bebop both kinda come to mind. Not amazing examples, but seemed worth mentioning
I have a severe circadian rhythm disorder- yes absolutely lol, daylight savings destroys me every year
My time hasn’t changed yet, but I’m not looking forward to it
Sorry, I replied to a different comment and I think lemmy messed things up and attached the comment to your parent comment. It looks like mine may not have been the only one. Also possible I just made a mistake, but it looks like it was lemmy’s issue
Thats a different neo launcher. The one he’s talking about isn’t available on the google play store.
Lemme find you an f-droid link
Edit: here you go https://apt.izzysoft.de/fdroid/index/apk/com.saggitt.omega
Its on izzydroid. You’ll want to use an f-droid client to download it and keep it updated. There are a bunch, the official one is an easy place to start, but I really like droid-ify. There’s also neo store which is developed by the same person/people who make neo launcher, but personally I find neo launcher pretty clunky
So am I correct in understanding that the one published by Oxford HCC is the original?
It seems obviously untrustworthy if the copy doesn’t link to its own source code, but instead links to the source code of the original. That makes it possible for the copy to implement tracking or other features that wouldn’t be okay without anyone being able to audit the source code and see what its doing behind the scenes…
EDIT: It kinda looks like both might be from the same people, the official repo links to both of them, one as being “get it from f-droid” and the other from “Izzy on droid”. I would guess that the added feature may just be because the Izzy on droid repo updates more frequently, so that may just be a newer version of the same app, from the same Dev, with the same github page. Just different app version, and hosted on multiple repos
