I’m a major in Physics. It’s interesting but currently, I think, it wouldn’t make any difference whether the universe created itself or 1000 universes merged into 1 or whatever. I would live for maximum 100 years and humankind for maybe few thousand years. It doesn’t really matter!

Also, the current quantum electrodynamics, which is the front of proven theoretical physics is quite difficult to understand!

There are so many such theories M theory , a superset of String theory, I guess there’s Twistor theory, and so many more! Theory of expanding universe also depends just on red shift of very far away light.

Exactly, I agree 100%, trying all kinds of socialist systems is out of question though. Changing systems requires lots of blood and isn’t cheap. Thinking about most stable socialism systems wrt time, which is super tough, is required and be chosen.

Time is a concept which comprises of events. Things don’t happen on their own and cash is of course the thing lacking but “support” is the wrong word here. Free software should earn cash!

Everyone here is most welcome to my talk on libreplanet which would occur in a couple of days, Survival of Free Software

I used to listen to Stansberry Investor Hour, The Investor’s Podcast by Preston Pysh and Stig Broderson, few selected interviews like Snowden, MMA folks in Joe Rogan Experience.

We are extremely pleased to announce the first rc (release candidate) of Hyperbola v0.4 . It is a small pit stop while migrating from Linux to hyperbk kernel, a fork of OpenBSD's bsd kernel with non-free parts replaced. v0.4 has linux-libre without systemd, ConsoleKit, PolicyKit, D-Bus, elogind. For now, it is for advanced testers only. The beauty of Hyperbola lies in purity of components, minimalism and constant quest towards perfection. We welcome advanced GNU/Linux users to try it out!

Exactly, isn’t this totally obvious!

There’s no point of using tor browser while using archtorify. I haven’t tried such a thing. Tor Browser additionally protects against fingerprinting which archtorify does not. You’ll be able to do that by restarting archtorify using “archtorify -r”.

Absolutely, that’s the advantage of free software! :) You can just have a script which checks if archtorify service is running and executes “archtorify -r” if it is on every x minutes (according to how you want).

What archtorify does is it sets up iptables and a systemd service so that everything goes by default through tor. Installation shown in wiki.

I’ve installed more than 15 different OSes more than 100 times. The OS which I typically recommend, Trisquel KDE, is incredibly easy to install. It’s somewhat difficult to use however. If you want something extremely simple even for use, go for Kubuntu.

I personally use tutanota but it relies too much on JS and a really important feature in email, search sucks!

Asking to drop their IG isn’t practical. IG posts earn them money. PixelFed posts don’t. We can ask them to post on both IG and PixelFed. Cross posting bot is good for those who allow to clone their posts in PixelFed. Anyone with many followers, not just hot women!

Above solutions are still forced solutions. People aren’t naturally coming towards such platforms. Random ads aren’t problematic, targeted ones are!

Root solution to this will come from creating earning opportunities on free software platforms. And earning opportunity can be created once atleast the hosts of these platforms are above survival conditions. We all know about feneas.

Thanks @atomicshrimp@lemmy.ml . Yeah, it’s a good idea, but what can one do if there are around 30 people who believe that PixelFed is a better platform and not even 1 takes action for something they themselves believe in! We need better incentives. Like money from ads, hot influencers, dinners with actors, 30 mins online chat opportunities with say someone like Luke Smith or so on!

We need easiest user experience and compatibility of free software with capitalism. I’ve written an article and a new free sofware license on this which would come out soon. Making free software compatible with capitalism.

Ideas work if people co-operate. In capitalism, people co-operate only for money. That’s the whole point of utilitarianism and equating money with utility.

I recommend Trisquel. Use plasma DE for sure, it provides amazing user experience. Tell her to not expect things exactly like those of Windows or Mac and learn till she becomes comfortable. Initially she’ll struggle, later she won’t even think of using Windows or Mac.

Moving off GitHub is cool. They should do that definitely! I take immense interest in computer security and would trade such extra features easily for minimalism! People could easily learn using just those features! But yes, I get your point.

We increasingly find that having the first minimum number of users who interact amongst themselves is extremely important for a system to survive. I want to create this unique community of critical mass. In this community, the users would essentially be notified about new platforms, which are better than current platforms where we ask you to create an account and generate some basic content. This would enable that platform and essentially replace the other non-ethical platform. The newer platform may not be ideal and might have flaws but it would definitely be better than the older prevalent technology in many respects. We invite you, my dear friends, to this new community. You, would be the reason for change of some crucial aspects of society by mere participation!
