I’ve been using FlorisBoard for a week or so now and it’s pretty great! I’m loving the Swype feature! It’s better than AnySoft’s! However, I’ve had a lot of issues with it where it’ll type or delete characters in the wrong location, delete whole ass words when i just wanna delete the last letter, or slowing down a ton until i clear cache. Hell, i actually had some trouble finishing this paragraph.

Anysoft is great, but it really seems developer lost interest, since there are a lot of bugs never fixed and a lot of new features never implemented. It’s sad, since it’s my main keyboard and I’m very fond of

I use it, but it has some quirks that make it pretty annoying sometimes.

Thanks for the tip. I just installed it, and it doesn’t look bad at first sight.

I’ve been using it for a while now and it’s a great alternative to gboard. You can make it look basically the same and it has most of the features that gboard has, things like built-in google translator are obviously missing.

Nice. I’m gonna do a PR to see if I can add my keyboard layout to it ( halmak) .

Keyboard […] which respects you privacy

    It’s a weird world we live in…

Why would I want to use this over the default keyboard? There isn’t a comparison in the readme and it looks pretty similiar to me.

It has more features over the default keyboard, just like Gboard has. That’s the gap it was meant to fill: a privacy respecting “smart” keyboard.

I can imagine that after a stock Android install the default keyboard will not be completely free from key logging by Google LLC and / or by your phone hardware vendor.

I was aware of the smart spying, the question was meant to be seperate from that comment. I couldn’t really see how florisboard is different in a major way from AOSP keyboard.
