Keurig - I’m a manly-man, I drink my coffee, BLACK, with a half a pack of Camel no filters and a bowl of nails.
but my wife wanted on so now while I’m waiting of my pot of coffee to make, I’ll pop in a k-cup from a variety pack.
Nothing goes better with a bowl of nails quite like Blueberry pie coffee.
Jellyfin.
Changed my whole entertainment life by resolving the deadlock of surveillance platforms + convenience OR reasonable privacy + inconvenience.
Music, Audiobooks, Podcasts, Movies … I don’t know how I lived before.
That looks really interesting. I got to try Jellyfin out sometime. Thanks for sharing.
Jellyfin + RaspberryPi running LibreELEC for a completely FOSS smart TV experience 😎
Enjoy! It is amazing what is possible with basic tools and yet what a significant difference that makes to everyday life.
A 3D printer and a bidet. The 3D printer changes your mindset from “damn annoying thing X” to “I can print something to solve all annoyances”. The bidet made my butt super duper clean and wastes almost no paper.
I am so close to being convinced about the 3d printer thing… but then I always remember how lazy I am and that it will just sit in the corner and gather dust :(

This is going to sound weird, but a shoehorn. My feet are too wide for most shoes, so it helps a lot.
That’s not weird at all

(not sure on what is exactly meant by “can’t live without”, i guess it’s spoken figuratively)
it’s like those “once you see it, you can’t unsee” pictures, except you can’t unsee the detailing, imaging, tonality, soundstage etc
Certainly my label printer - only after I finally got one I realised how useful it is to label component drawers, and all sorts of other things.
LOL I saw below about the bidet and we also just ordere one after my wife finally gave in and said “she’ll see”. So we’ll see after it arrives but I suspect it may also be the same. Clearly Australians have not discovered them as they still have paper shortages ;-)
Label printers are so cool! But maybe I’ve gotten addicted to labeling everything I see in my house.
have you printed a label for your label printer yet?
LOL.
Not quite on the level of “can’t live without”, but a coffee machine that mills roasted beans really tastes better than normal powder coffee. I guess the full beans retain the taste longer in the bag :-/
Having a timer in your coffee machine, so that you can prepare everything in the evening and have fresh coffee early in the morning is quite neat as well. Also works as a life hack for those having trouble with their alarm clock being snoozed too many times, as you really don’t want your coffee to be cold ;)
Quality PC accessories, like headset, microphone, camera, etc. Also a not cheap bidet.
Just remembered, non-stick pans… OMG so fucking magic!!!
Also a not cheap bidet
that is one of the things I dislike about going back to US after living mostly in asia for years — no sprayer. so barbaric.
Having lived in South-East Asia for a while I do see the benefit of a bidet, but I just don’t see it as applicable to colder climates.
If the water that comes out of the pipe is fricking cold all year round, bidets are just impossible to use. And usually hot-water connections take too much time (and waste water) for the warm water to arrive. Maybe some of these Japanese toilet bidets that have a build in electric heater would work, but I am not entirely convinced.
I got a $20 bidet and I can’t live without it.
Cheap thermal (skiing) underwear. If I wear it I can basically withstand any weather outside and feeling warm while outside during winter was a new experience to me.

A down winter coat. I used to wear a thin, wool shirt jacket for some reason and was always freezing. Got used to it until one day my friend was like, “You know, you don’t have to be cold”.
How do I cross-post this to /c/coffee
There is a little two squares button below the OP to cross post a topic.
