Yes, “shaving” means running a razor across skin until it is smooth, not just cutting the hair very short. But keeping the look and keeping it practical means shaving every day. Head stubble isn’t like stubble on any other part of your body. Within 18 hours, your head will feel like sandpaper. It will catch on fabric, literally hurt your loved ones’ skin if it rubs against them, and the worse it gets, the harder it is on your razor. I was using one razor blade each day. It was getting expensive and difficult.
EDIT: I should also add that if you’re not used to it, this entire process is painful. Your scalp is fucking sensitive.
I find shaving mine once a week is best. Doesn’t get too harsh in that time and keeps my head from being all messed up from overuse of a razor. Every day is brutal to sensitive skin.
Probably. The reason I was shaving my head wasn’t that I was balding, it was that I thought it would be more convenient than having hair. I was incorrect in this assessment.
care to elaborate? what’s involved once you shave your head? I’m considering a full head shave done professionally.
I think they mean that a shave involves razors, not just clippers.
So razors to clean up any stubble or left over hairs, correct?
I am just wondering myself how involved it will be after the fact I suppose. sounds pretty involved to maintain full bald head.

Then your hair grows much slower than mine. If I let it go longer than a day, I’d use two razor blades for one shave.
Well I’m well down the path of genuine baldness so that’s probably true.
