What version do you have? I think you have one of the older versions, you can find the latest one here: https://github.com/dessalines/jerboa/releases/tag/0.0.26

The f-droid maintainers have currently turned off builds of jerboa, because it uses jetpack-compose, which requires release candidate versions of gradle. This affects not just jerboa, but any other project that uses android-studio.

      https://gitlab.com/fdroid/fdroiddata/-/commit/470c8f4d533e4c4abf80fbd4ff17d0378e301e50#note_1264308138

I don’t see android switching away from using gradle RCs in the near future, so unfortunately I have to recommend installing via github or google play.

I can read local instance comments but not remote instances comments. The fdroid version doesn’t show any comments at all (0.0.24)

I assume its because the other instances have yet to update/migrate the dbs

Maybe it has to do with the new language settings?

You are a genius! That’s it!

@dessalines@lemmy.ml, removing language settings from your preferences makes posts appear that otherwise would be hidden.

If I had to guess, I would say that comments without language tags are being filtered when you apply language filters. And if that’s intended, it might be an idea to show something along the lines of “X posts filtered due to language settings, click to view them”

I was struggling with the same problem a few hours ago. It wouldn’t allow me to post. Until I discovered the language menu below comments.

I was having issues with seeing that there were 8 posts or whatever in a discussion, but then none of them would appear when I loaded the post. I removed my language settings and now they all appear

Nope. Tried removing default language and setting English as default. Still can’t see comments on instances other than Lemmy.ml

It’s bigger than that. Even on our updated instance, comments often won’t load directly via the web interface, and the same is even true on lemmy.ml. There’s something more going on here
