We need an archive link to this from this guy OR someone else verifying that this is true. I tried to find it, but couldn’t. I’ll give everyone a half an hour.

Edit: Thanks for everyone doing so much research. The crazy thing is, when you go to @DavidShuster, the comment doesn’t show up at all and it looks the account hasn’t been active for a year or so. But then RedJard linked and archived the original. LillyPip confirmed that it is his account.

I now spent close to an hour trying to figure out Robinson’s political leanings, and as of right now the internet simply does not know.

      This is the closest:

A public records database shows Robinson’s family resides in Washington, Utah, where Trump garnered support from 75% of voters in the 2024 presidential election. Robinson’s parents have Republican listed as their party affiliation, said public voter registration information, and they are considered active voters (each cast ballots in the 2024 election that gave Trump a second presidency).

Public records also indicated Robinson registered as a voter in Utah in July 2021 but was considered inactive and did not declare an affiliation to any party when he registered.

And then there’s a lot of talk about bullet engravings which leave me very confused. How can you engrave “If you’re reading this you’re gay” - 26 characters onto a single bullet? Even so, the messaging is open to interpretation. We simply do not know yet, and we might never know 100%! He’s conflicted, that much seems clear.

IMHO most timely and objective article as of right now: LA Times

edit: I wrote this 24h ago. Surely the situation has changed by now. See you in a more timely thread!

30.06 is a large bullet and the words were allegedly written on the cases of the bullets, not the rounds themselves. Good to be skeptical but a fine point Sharpie could get 26 characters on there if you had small handwriting or did multiple lines or whatever.

Yup. And you could probably engrave it with a nail, so the barrier here is pretty low, but it would probably take an hour or so to engrave a simple message because it’s kinda hard.

True, but i still don’t see how it can’t be a game reference and a label applied to Kirk. I don’t see how somebody, who is right wing themselves, would use this. But it makes perfect sense if the shooter was left.

Magats like to throw insults, but very often it is evident that they do not understand what the words they use, actually mean. “Fascist”, “Communist”, “Socialist” are all examples of “insults” I’ve been called by obvious magats. I don’t think they understand what TDS is either, even though they all have terminal cases of it. In general, I don’t think magats understand much of anything at all.

Yeah, but quoting an antifascist song and writing “hey fascist, catch” on your bullets is one of those things that feels suggestive of the rarer lefty shooter. There was also something initially reported as pro-trans symbolism, but it didn’t sound like a trans symbol I’d seen before.

This article from 2010 quotes and links to that same Twitter account as being his, so it looks real as far as I can tell. Other articles and references I’ve found more recently also link to that same account. It looks legit.

Remember, the blue check no longer means ‘verified’ – now it only means ‘paid for premium’ (since Musk took over, he changed it such that you just have to pay monthly for the blue check, not be the verified person), so I wouldn’t put stock in that blue check now.

e: it’s at the bottom, here’s the quote:

Meanwhile Shuster hasn’t made a peep on Twitter since MSNBC called his direct tweets to O’Keefe “inappropriate.” It will be one week tomorrow morning – we’ve reached out to MSNBC to see if there has been any suspension. Either way, he can communicate through Red Eye‘s in-box…

The investigation is ongoing, but I want to make it crystal clear right now to whoever did this. We will find you. We will try you and we will hold you accountable to the furthest extent of the law. And I just want to remind people that we still have the death penalty here in the state of Utah.

We can return violence with violence, we can return hate with hate. And that’s the problem with political violence, is it metastasizes. Because we can always point the finger at the other side. And at some point, we have to find an off ramp, or it’s going to get much much worse.

Incredible the difference a day can make.

The people who make it a regular habit to attack others because of who they are, yet also somehow have a persecution complex, find it pretty easy to assume that when one of their own gets attacked it’s because of who they are too. It’s like a damned street gang that’s looking for a fight. “One of themmmm killed one of ussss, time to counter attack! To waaar!”

“… oh shit THAT bullet was from our side TOO? I think nobody noticed. Can we get this party started or what!?”

It’s as gross as it is predictable. Their reactions to these shootings always follow the same rule: a member of the master race killing one of the subhumans is just an unfortunate fact of life, but one of the subhumans killing a member of the master race merits national if not global headlines that will at minimum be memorable trivia for people who lived through that year.

And I say this as an old white dude.

Mormons have historically been extremely racist. It was pretty recently that they stopped preaching that black people are black because god cursed them (the curse of Ham). They put on a smiling, demure front, and the church has tried very hard to rehabilitate their image, but the Mormon religion is pretty fucked up.

Nick Fuentes is an open and proud Nazi and says so on his live streams.

Imagine the most vile, ridiculous position you can think of a right-wing nutjob could take, multiply that by all the positions neonazis take, and then make him look like Dr Mephesto’s mini-me version of 1940s Spike Jones (the comedy band leader, not the modern Spike Jonze) with the confidence and hubris of the sleaziest car salesman you’ve ever seen.

This dude is so far gone he used to stalk and harass Charlie Kirk himself for online video clout, and he bragged openly about “infecting and impregnating Turning Point USA” and “fucking it raw from the inside out” (not sure what he claimed to have done to cause that, but it’s some shit he spewed on camera).

It would come as no surprise to me that his little cult of groypers are far enough gone to have been the perpetrators here. We shall see when the details come out. I hope he makes it to trial and the sunlight hits all of this ugliness; though I fear it’s all become UV resistant at this point, and it will just stir up a bunch of “look what the left made us do just by existing!” nonsense.

It’s just speculation. No real motive has been determined. https://www.latimes.com/world-nation/story/2025-09-12/what-we-know-about-the-suspected-killer-of-charlie-kirk

LA Times wrote this less than 15 minutes ago:

Investigators are still looking through evidence and trying to determine a motive in the slaying.

The only things in writing are the words etched into the bullets, and those are mixed. He wrote an anti-fascist statement on a bullet casing and other text on others, but nothing to indicate he had liberal or conservative ideologies. “Notices bulges OwO what’s this?” is used within the groypers to make fun of furries, as well as when they are (ugh I hate that I’m about to say this word) “transvestigating”, which is when they “investigate” whether someone is trans or not. Also see “If you read this, you are gay LMAO”

Bella ciao is also used ironically within the groypers.

If it was the only thing there… Sure. Its not though, its one of several things, which all have one very specific context - groypers.

            Context is always important.

Edit: Forgot to add - with Helldivers 2, the joke is you’ve got fascists dropping bombs while saying they are dropping bombs on fascists. Again, a meme reference for groypers.

I’d like to raise a few points:

                1. Conservatives are media illiterate.
                2. Deeply online groypers live under 16 layers of irony at all times.
                3. Fascists love pretending that they’re actually heroes fighting the real fascists who want to give people free bread. To a lot of Americans, communist and fascist are the same word.

I can’t tell you if bella ciao is a popular alt-right meme because I don’t hang out with them, but I can tell you it’s far from impossible.

FWIW, there’s plenty of alt-right “advice” out there to use left wing messaging if someone decides to do something stupid. It’s potentially a tactic to misdirect and frame the violence.

Not really, the “hey fascist, catch” one is from helldiver’s 2, where the satirical fascist human soldiers ironically call the bug aliens they fight fascists. The arrows are the code to call in an airstrike.

Most articles actually said the complete opposite of what this shitter post claims.

Cox said: “The family member referenced a recent incident in which Robinson came to dinner prior to September 10, and in the conversation with another family member, Robinson mentioned Charlie Kirk was coming to UVU.”

There was a mention of how “Kirk was full of hate and spreading hate”.

Most articles also say that one of the bullet casings had a “bella ciao” engraving which could be false flag but also could be real.

Call me cynical, but I’m convinced that the MAGA mouthpieces all knew full well from the start that the balance of probability was that it would be one of their own.

They knew they’d have maybe 48 hours max to flood all outlets and social media with stories of it being a suspected trans activist, so that by the time the truth came out the story would already be old news and people would be fatigued and just remember that there was some uncertainty over his motives.

The thing that really got me is that anyone believes the thing about the bullet casings being engraved at all. That’s the kind of detail that’s just too easy to fabricate, and I can’t believe I bought it when they said the United Healthcare killer engraved HIS bullets. There’s no way for any news source to be sure which bullets actually came from the gun; also, wouldn’t evidence like that be kept secret by the police?

I dunno maybe I’m too paranoid, I just believe literally nothing from any media outlet anymore; they’re all owned by Larry Ellison’s kid

      Does it really matter?

The 30-06 casing is pretty big, and has about 2"/50mm of space before it tapers down to where the bullet is. There’s plenty of space for a short message, and you could probably engrave it with a nail. I’m guessing it would take a couple hours to engrave four bullets, which is totally feasible.

We have specific messages, and the benefit to lying about it is incredibly low, so why bother?

It means the messages aren’t specific to any one movement. It seems like wasted effort if they were going to slot him in to any category, since they’re open to interpretation as either ultra right wing memes or antifacist memelord quotes. Depending on the news source, they are being interpreted differently.

Or, maybe “they” made it intentionally occlusive to avoid a civil war. Because let’s face it, the right were calling for a violence before the casings even came out. Hell, they were calling for violence before the shooting, too.

My take is that since the public just wholesale bought the story about the UHC CEOs murderer engraving 9mm bullets, someone at WSJ (owned by Rupert/Lachlan Murdock, known Nazis and accelerationists) decided “hey let’s tell everyone these bullets had engravings too” and intentionally left the “messages” on the bullets vague enough to go either way. Once it was out there, people ran with it cause it sounded plausible.

I think there’s a good chance it’s a misunderstanding of the evidence early on.

Notices Bulge. OwO What is this?

I think this can be taken either as supporting or not supporting trans people. It could also be a furry thing. If you combine with the other engravings, esp the “Bella ciao” one, it definitely seems like leftist messaging.

I personally think he’s on the right wing. The far right also opposes Trump, and targeting Kirk seems like a natural thing in that case. I don’t think a leftist radical would though, because they care less about individual action and more about collective action. If anything there is leftist, it’s ironically leftist just to spite Kirk even more. That tracks with the “if you’re reading this you’re gay” message, the engravings seemed to be intended to amuse the shooter, not send a message.

Using Hanlon’s razor, “Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity”, I think it’s likely they misinterpreted the evidence, not that they intentionally misdirected the public.

Trump is obviously motivated to point the finger at the left because his party isn’t looking so hot for the next election. That makes sense to me. But the FBI doesn’t seem to have that same motivation, they want to catch the suspect, and providing information early is important for that in a case like this. Utah is very conservative, so if the shooter is a leftist, that dramatically reduces the search pool.

Anyway, that’s my guess here. I guess we’ll see as more information is reported whether he’s likely a leftist or far right extremist.

      Which part?

Here’s an article about the suspect in custody that mentions his recent interest in politics, and another article that mentions him being conservative. From the second link:

But several years ago in high school, Robinson – like his family – was politically conservative, and supported President Donald Trump ahead of the 2020 election, one of Robinson’s former classmates told CNN.

“When I knew him and his family, they were like diehard Trump,” said the former classmate. “When this happened, I was like… I don’t know what changed.”

Between the two, I think you can read between the lines and verify what’s in that tweet.

He largely stayed around home though. I didn’t look up exactly where he grew up, but Dixie Tech is in the same county as he grew up, and he only spent one semester at the university at the other end of the state. Utah State isn’t very progressive either (they’re an agriculture-heavy school), and I doubt Dixie Tech is either (it’s a small technical college, not a full university).

We’ll certainly get more information in the coming weeks, but my money is on him being radicalized by the far right.
