So, the implications of this post are that Mozilla will have google default search engine, and ship with default configuration, rather than LM-specific one, because Ubuntu is moving their package to snap. I was anticipating for more security fixes, but I guess that’s not what this is about.

With Linux Mint in the mix? They deliberately hold back security fixes because they’re not “tested”, whatever that means in terms of security fixes.

Pretty much this, but Mozilla always had Google as the default, and Mint used to switch it up for their package with their recommended search engines, and now they’ll simply use what’s the default in upstream for basically everything.

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).

Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word “Linux” in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.
